Lots of Terminal Services errors in event log.

I check the event log on all the servers i have access to at least once a week. I have noticed on nearly all the servers are having the same errors in the 'System' part of the event log. I think its something trivial but is really starting to get to me. THe error is all to do with printers. The error is something like this,

' Drivers for HP2115n laser series is unknown. Contact the administrator to install driver before you login'

THis happens no matter what the printer model so i guess its something to do with the Terminal Service login. CAn some one shed some light on this problem please?

I assume that you are connecting to your servers via a remote desktop session.

If this is the case then the most likely cause is that you are extending your local printer to the server.

To check double click on your remotedesktop icon and, before connecting to any server, click on options / local resources and ensure that the printers box towards the bottom is unchecked.

We get them all the time, it's the users home printer being mapped and the server doesn't have the driver to cover it.

You can disable client redirection globally via the terminal services GPO settings or on individual servers in the RDP connection settings in the Terminal Server Managment console.
