Hi there

We are a post 16 school, our prospective external Year 12 students apply via a site called eProspectus.

eProspectus have now have the option to download an ATF , we have previously had to input each application to SIMS manually so this is amazing news.

I have managed to download the ATF from eProspectus, but when I try to upload to SIMS via the ATF wizard I get the attached error.

CMSS y12 errors.png

I have contacted SIMS helpdesk and they advised the following :

Workaround

The current ATF version is 19.0 and defined by the DfE. They will update the specifications each year for ADT and ASL files, and then update the specifications for ATF files. Version 18.0 can still be used for imports into Sims.net.

If you require further information regarding ATF files and their versions then please contact the DfE. If you believe that an ATF file you received has an incorrect version then please ask the supplier to correct this and provide a new file.
However I can't get any help from eProspectus at the moment about how to correctly generate the ATF from their site.

Is there a way to manually amend the ATF so that it will import into SIMS that anyone could help with at all?

Thanks

Katy

Hi Katy

ATF files are just text-based XML.

Somewhere around line 5 or 6 (assuming line endings are wrapping nicely) will be:

18.0

I'm not suggesting/advocating changing this manually (ahem...) but if you change it and save, it will let you get rid of that error.

That's brilliant thanks so much for your help I really appreciate that - I will give it a go and see how I get on. This could save me hours of work of manually inputting applicants on to SIMS that never actually end up coming!

eProspectus have also been in touch to advise it is still in testing stage at their end and have also been really helpful.

Love this site though - have found so many answers to both little queries and bigger issues I have needed help with. Some excellent knowledge on here!

Thanks for that, have spoken to them this morning and it has been removed for all but a couple of providers for testing purposes due to the issues with import to MIS. Thought I was going mad as had seen it and then couldn't find it again
