Our client, a well-established IT company with clients across the South of England, are currently looking for an experienced Senior Technician with desire to manage lots of good Microsoft technologies to join their existing team within a Secondary School

 

The school are about to invest heavily in their infrastrurture so its a great time to get involved with a major upgrade supprted by an MS gold company. Based on site in the Reading area of Berkshire, you and your team will be responsible for ensuring a consistent ICT support service is delivered throughout the school. A Senior Engineer and account manager visit regularly.

 

You will take the lead in delivering the ICT service throughout the school including both technical support and line management of IT staff, maintaining specialist equipment, repairs and upgrades, prioritising staff workloads, as well as advising and training junior staff.

 

Responsiblities:

 

• Strong 2nd Line support including management of active network components including switches, routers and firewalls.

• Line management of ICT staff.

• Maintain Internet filtering systems.

• Manage remote access to the school’s intranet.

• Design and implement procedures on receiving and testing ICT equipment.

• Design and implement procedures on asset disposal.

• Maintain and regularly review whole-school system contingency plans.

• Design and implement the school's backup and virus protection policies

• Assist in planning for major developments of ICT services.

 

Requirements:

• Previously worked within a similar Senior ICT position

• Two or more years’ experience managing Enterprise level Network infrastructures or a Service Desk.

• Virtualisation technology (VMWARE or Hyper-V preferred)

• Microsoft Certification (MCSA, MCSE etc) or relevant professional qualification/degree
