Access control integrated with your SIS?

Hello, anyone using an access control system with is bound or interconnected with your SIS? For instance Iris Biostore

Previous place I had iSAMS linked to Paxton, first with a system called AD2Net, then using Salamander.

Worked really well, though still manually had to assign cards. Pulled photos through, if they were put in, so we could just print card, assign it and hand the card out.

Since what age pupils could use the system? Did this cause queues at the entrance/exit?

Ah, we never used it with Pupils, this was purely for staff.

I know one of our schools is using Inventry for automatic attendance. I’m sure it can extend to access control too. We just got it connected to the Engage MIS API.

We have salamander create net2 accounts with pictures from mis data and write back token numbers to ad pager field which pull into papercut for printing, and salamander also makes a CSV for a trail we are doing with inventry which registers all the card numbers with inventry to make it more seamless for a user as no need to register the card it's all ready for them.

1+ for this, We got SalamanderSoft to do this for us a couple of years ago and after a really long discussion with the InVentry it turns out they have a secret import tool that can be run as a schedule task to read from a CSV file. One of the less-known InVentry tools that apparently was developed for there international schools as part of the requirements in tender. They never thought the main UK market might want to automate this process and import the scan codes (ID) of the existing RFID cards! Took me something like three months of open ticket they kept trying to close until it was forced up to one of the main product managers who said “Yes we have a tool for that, It’s just not used by very many schools!”

Yes the tool only just got mentioned to us with a solution redesign. The first step was them having the reader's reprogrammed so they read in Paxton format instead of what they where.
