At one of my schools, we're in the process of transitioning away from Schools Broadband, to another provider.

As it turns out, there's a 90 day termination "you must give us not less than ninety (90) days' notice in writing to be given before the end of the Minimum Term or any and each Renewal Term" which was on 01/01/23 and it's now the 10/01

After speaking with them today, we have now "auto enrolled until 31/03/24" which I haven't come across before with any other suppliers.

Has anyone else come across a similar situation as this?

I'm afraid it is the contract. You need to be aware of when contract terms end and what the minimum termination window is. Auto enroll is fairly standard in telecoms, otherwise you would lose mobile connections, phone lines, DDIs if someone didn't renew. It is also pretty standard on most software subscriptions now.

Options are transition away and pay a hefty termination fee, put a reminder in your calendar for September to cancel, or cancel now and make sure you organise the transition in time.

Unfortunately I have also found this to be normal. Even when I was in the UK.

I inherited a school that had signed up tor Schools Broadband. The service was awful. Initiated the exit within the notice period and they make it extremely difficult so I would give yourself more time than their minimum term.
