Hi All

We use Shared iPad across our centre with a fairly even spread of devices. However, in one area in particular we are getting an error message about not being able to take a photo due to a lack of memory. If you look into memory usage there is plenty available, restarting the device does not fix the issue. reimaging does however, but it's an error that reoccurs often.

My guess is that its the amount of memory cached for a student login, we have restricted this to 3 being cached but still are finding the issue too often.

Is there a formula that would suggest how many users to allow for a set amount of RAM?

Or have I totally got the wrong end of the stick and we have an entirely different issue?

cheers

We are having a similiar issue. I just want to use Guest logins as pupils don't logout when they return the iPads, so temporary logins would mean gmail etc was all reset each time. However, it appears to hold 16GB for the temporary logins and then after 2 or 3 uses it says the iPad is full. I can't delete the cache from JAMF as it says the user doesn't exist.

So, it seems like Shared iPads just won't work with guest logins. Our Apple IDs are far too long / cumbersome for students to login / out with them each lesson.
