HP Gen 9 Intelligent Provisioning

Morning All,

 

Can anyone help me with deploying Server 2022 via Intelligent Provisioning? I have configured IP on the server and copied the ISO to a USB stick. However IP does not see the ISO file at all. I assume copying hte ISO file means 'flat ISO'. As such I cannot get Windows to install.

 

I'm probably missing something easy.

 

Any help appreciated.

It might sound stupid, but are you using the front or rear USB ports? I recently had to reinstall VMware ESXi on my HP DL360 Gen9 and couldn't get it to see the ISO from the front USB (it had a couple of symptoms; It could see the drive, but not the ISO, or it could see both the drive and ISO but report the ISO was not valid). Not stupid at all. I'm sure I tried that but am trying again. Deploying a server should not be this hard.

 

If all fails I'll just install from a normal boot USB and install that way

That's strange. I have Server 2022 Datacenter installed on one of our other HP DL360 Gen9 servers. I don't know how it was loaded though, as it was done via a third party at the time.

Just clean install the os and then install the service pack after. I never use the provisioning tool.

Also got 2022 dc running on dl360 g9 and g10 servers here no problems.

You're probably well past the point of using it now, but even the last released version of Intelligent Provisioning for the Gen9 only supported Windows Server 2019 so if you were thinking of trying to update IP don't bother.
