Old Graphic Tablets

Apologies if this isn't the right area (I'm still finding my feet ^^')

 

One of Our art department has asked us to see if we can get 2 very old Graphics tablets going on new PCs.

so far I've only tested one which is a a Wacom Intous 4 PTK-840.

I can't find the right drivers for it though, the new driver obviously doesn't work (gave it ago just in case anyway)

 

I found this website but it only has MAC drivers:

I've raided wacom for older drivers but I'm getting sent in circles back to the latest drivers.

any ideas?l

When you say the newer driver which one do you mean?

 

The Wacom website has 6.3.41 for the Intuos (2020 but that’s the newest for that tablet) And all the way back to 6.3.8 (2014) available to download

I think that with those devices being made in 2009 you will be very lucky to to find driver support for them now.

You'll be looking to get them them on the last version of Windows that they worked on, but then you'll have the problems of security for those laptops\pc's as they will not be update unless you can isolate them from the internet.

 

If its only 2 why not ask to replace them there are alternatives at a better price point than wacom.

I did recommend replacements but our budget is basically non-existent so making do with what we can for now.

the second one will make you Laugh, it's a Wacom CTE-640 (surprisingly nicer to use on generic drives then the first one) originally being used with ancient macs.

I hold little hope for this buddy but If I can get one going I'll look into this one later.
