Office 365 script command-let (modern auto)

Hi everyone,

 

As of October 2022, Microsoft have announced that they are no longer supporting the use of Basic Authentication which means a script to create email signatures and pushes it to the web version of outlook in office 365.

 

The command let in the script which uses basic authentication is this and uses a cred file to automatically sign into office 365 and push the signature without me having to sign in every time I run it.

 

 

Basic Authentication command-let:

$Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri https://ps.outlook.com/powershell/ -Credential $Cred -Authentication Basic –AllowRedirection

 

So what would a new one be? And needs to be able to sign in automatically.

You need to set up a service principal in Azure AD, attach a certificate to it and use that certificate to authenticate with Exchange Online. You also need the new EXO Exchange Online PowerShell module (https://www.powershellgallery.com/packages/ExchangeOnlineManagement/3.0.0)
