Smoothwall Category Group Blocklist Precedence query

Does anyone know if the Pornography category group blocklist in Smoothwall takes precedence over any whitelists?

 

I've had a request from a member of staff asking for the URL Free online Greek and Latin Roots Finder to be unblocked. The root domain was blocked under Hate Speech and I've unblocked that okay but the URL she's asked for is being blocked under the Pornography category group and adding that URL to the same whitelists doesn't unblock it.

 

I've checked the URL/page source and can't find anything initially untoward nor can I see why Smoothwall is flagging it up, though if anyone knows anything about the above site and/or can see anything about it I can't, would be helpful?

Smoothwall processes policies from top to bottom.

 

Core Blocked Content (or whatever your default rule is called) is usually at the bottom, allowing you to place your custom whitelists and blacklists above it. I find its better to create custom policies and put your URLs in there, above the core blocks.

 

I would attempt to browse the website and watch the live Web Filter report, to see what's being blocked. Websites these days usually use CDNs and have content coming from external sources and simply unblocking the root domain doesn't always help. A lot of sites re-use files, like javascript files, for things like user logging in and activity tracking, and the Smoothwall detects the same scripts from other sites, erroneously flagging them (i.e MyGreatWebsite.com uses a login script also used on PaddyPower so it gets blocked as Gambling). I have had to whitelist specific javascript files on sites to avoid this.
