Benjaminbl12 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Hello! Our reception team wanted to change up our greeting on the phone system. We use Avaya IP 500 v2 and for the most part have set up the new greeting correctly using Voicemail Pro and the manager with what was already there. However, they get put through a menu (press 1, press 2...) and then they're now meant to hold to be put through to the reception phone rather than pressing a button. I can't find the setting though for this and it just never connects. All the other bits work. Is anyone able to share their VOIP wisdom with me? Thanks!
tosh74 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Are you looking to bypass the menu options altogether or are you looking to put the call through to reception if no option is selected?

tosh74 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 (edited) Ok on your menu (voice menu object). Right click and open properties. Select the Touchtones tab and tick timeout (select value for timeout - i.e. 5 Seconds). Click on OK. You should now have a Timeout selection on your menu. Now link this option to your reception number. Remember to save to make it active Edited October 24, 2022 by tosh74

Thanks, Ben
tosh74 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 do you have an object set with your reception number? If not create one with the Telephony Actions button (blue telephone) and select Transfer (Blue arrow pointing down onto a red phone). Click on your call flow diagram and it will drop a box called Transfer. Right click on the box and select properties. Under the General Tab give the Token Name field something useful for you (i.e Transfer to reception). Now click on the SPECIFIC tab and enter the Reception number into the Destination field and click on OK. Now drag this object where you need it. Next use the connector tool to connect the TIMEOUT option (from your voicemenu object) to the Transfer to Reception object. This can be a bit fiddly as the connector tool can be temperamental.

Thanks for the really detailed explanation. I thought I had it when I connected up the Timeout to the transfer however still nothing. I've attached a photo for you to see if there's anything else. Maybe in the manager?
tosh74 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 (edited) that looks good to me. did you save it ? (this makes it live) One last thing to check:- On your transfer to reception object, Specific tab. On the Destination field click the 3 button on the right. Make sure that Mailbox is the same extension name as the reception extension number (refer to your manager app) Edited October 24, 2022 by tosh74

When you get past the menu, I assume it reaches the time out but there's no dial/noise so it just sounds like it's dropped.

Rebooted the VM server and it kicked back to life. Can't make it up!
