[sims] Attendance Analysis

Hi folks,

 

Our attendance officer finds the SIMS and Discover attendance analysis poor.

 

Does anyone out there know of any 3rd party tools to use with SIMS that do a better job? This is at secondary level.

 

This is where Arbor and Bromcom are looking more attractive, but we’re interested to know whether it can be done with something that links with SIMS.

Have a look at TALAXY from TASC Softwae.

Have you looked at what you get with FFT Aspire ? We have a data link to that and our attendance is pulled into that to compare against the national figures. If your school has an FFT sub its worth setting up.

We do have FFT, and SISRA, so I'll make sure that our attendance officer speaks to the person using those already.

We use Power BI very successfully to analyse attendance including comparisons to the national averages.

We also use PowerBi and had some great help from a person called David Pott, if you google his name it will pop up. You can also get some free training and also free analytics from his website here

Couple of my schools use '3BM Attendance' Its a report for SIMS that you need to purchase every year and the attendance team run that whenever they want and it gives loads of information. Think its only in the £150-200 a year range. They also offer one for staff attendance. I purchase it through my local SIMS support company.
