Iiyama Touch Screen TV - Screen Casting

We have a couple of Iiyama Touch screen TVs and we have been asked if they can be enabled so that they can be wireless screen casted to.

 

We have been playing about with our wifi settings and we are struggling to get something concreate to work.

 

We thought it would be a case of casting to the device without it being on the same network but it appears that the TVs need to be on the exact same SSID as the device, there is no way that the TV can be on one VLAN whilst the device is on another.

 

Does anyone have these devices and how are you casting to the TV for your devices? Have you got the TV on the same LAN / network as your devices?

Install the Bytello app onto the Iiyama screen (if it's a recent model). Bytello replaced Screenshare Pro.

 

It supports AirPlay and Chromecast. Yes, our screens are on the same VLAN as the teacher tablets.

Thanks, they are new devices, they were installed within 2022.

 

What happens if the TV is on the same VLAN but a different SSID?

 

I'm thinking about our SSIDs as we have a Chromebook SSID, Staff devices SSID and a Guest network SSID which are all on different VLANs. Having the TV open to these different VLANs would have been the best thing to do but i'm not sure how to go about it. I've tried looking at the firewall ports to see if InterVLAN routing can be done or at least cross VLANs but i'm thinking it's not possible.

Think you'll have to try it. We did try different SSIDs early on and had problems with AirPlay, so we put the screens on the same one as the teachers.

We've managed to get our hands on a Microsoft Wireless Device Adapter (kindly donated by another Edugeek member) which kinda works as it should using Miracast rather than Iiyama's software.
