I was asked the other day by a teacher at a different school if their SharePoint folders can be listed in onedrive desktop app.

I only work in Google based schools so couldn't answer, although I would guess it's no different from Google's desktop app, which does display shared drives and my drive folders.

Yes.

You can sync a SharePoint Document Library or a sub folder and it appears under the Organization's Name at the same level as OneDrive in File Explorer

As an alternative can also make a link in your OneDrive to the Document Library so the document library appears as a folder within your OneDrive. (there is a button in the SharePoint Document Library Tool Bar to make this happen)

Great Thanks.

If someone saves a file in One Drive, but the SharePoint folder section, if that person leaves and their account gets deletes, will the file still be in SharePoint?

If you talking about the 'SharePoint Shortcut' rather than syncing a document library, then your just seeing what's in the document library. If you delete the user account it won't delete the files/folder as it's saved on the document library, not the users OneDrive.

If you sync a document library, again your just seeing a cached version of the document library. Nothing but the local cache is lost if the user is deleted, the data in the shared document library remains.
