Retr0 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Hello Any help will be greatly appreciated, the admin department are breathing down my neck about this. We have set up a scan to email on a canon printer using an office 365 SMTP server, when the scanned document is sent; the printer says authentication error. When i test the SMTP connection in the canon admin console i get this: SMTP authentication (SMTP AUTH) error. Check that [user Name], [Password], and the other settings for [sMTP Authentication (SMTP AUTH)] in Authentication/Encryption Settings are correct. Please help Thank you
chaplic Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Enabled basic smtp auth for the account? is conditional access blocking it? what does Azure AD connect logs say? Setup an SMTP client on a PC and try the same settings.
akidosaint Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Has scan account been granted smtp permission within o365? if so try signing in with scan account i had to do for a couple of schools i supported.
Retr0 Posted September 9, 2022 Author Posted September 9, 2022 Thank you my friend! that was the issue, have a great day and god bless
mavhc Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 If you're just emailing to your internal IP addresses then non auth smtp can work better
