Evening everyone, I wondered if anyone could help, I am looking at firewall options at the moment, WatchGuard is one of the proposals I have. I wondered if anyone was running one in a large secondary, we have circa 400 laptops, 400 desktops. Around 1600 students and 300 staff. With a 1GB line. Is anyone using an M390 for this sort of size or do you think we would need to step up to the M590. We are currently running a Smoothwall S10 which seems fine. Thanks in advance.

We have 40 x M290's on our sites, admitatedly most we have online at once is maybe 100 users with laptops plus AP's and other network connected devices and have no issues. So your doing to be looking at maybe 800 devices online at once? Might be just worth comparing the spec's of the next model up, also look at connectivity into your core stack too if you need fibre then its next model up.

 

I'd use Watchguard all day long they are great used them for years, they all that the pros and con's.
