USB drive encryption/password protected without Bitlocker

Hi all,

 

I need to encrypt/password protect some usbs.

 

My home laptop is Windows 10 home so hasn't got Bitlocker on it and I'm between jobs so can't use a work pc.

 

The usbs need to be able to be used by someone by just entering a password without the need for special software.

 

My Google fu isn't working that well and I'm only coming up with options that need the software installed on the PC before it can be unlocked by password.

 

Any suggestions?

If you have a spare device (or maybe via a virtual machine) install Windows 10 Pro with the 30 days grace period and use that to do the initial encryption?

Encrypt data to a zip file using 7-Zip but then also include a copy of 7-Zip portable on the drive as well?
