I-boss client upgrade

We've started supporting a couple of primary schools with i-boss filtering and we have just received the latest msi to deploy out to the machines.

 

Speaking with 3rd party support they've advised to remove old versions of software and install new version. Asked for direction to do this via a GPO their response was just right on the application and uninstall.

 

Does anyone else have any pointers re i-boss removal\upgrade process

 

Any advise would be appreciated

We used iBoss at my old job, and a lot of the times we didn't have to worry about uninstalling and then re-installing. But you can use control panel and then un-install the iBoss client that way. We used to have some issues where iBoss would stop working for no reason, so we used to have to re-install it with the ideal filtering for the PC.

 

Through GPO, you can just push out the new one and you shouldn't have many issues. We never did when we used to push the latest version out.
