[ipad] Clearing photos & videos from iPads

Has anybody ever found a way to do this without doing it manually or completely wiping the iPad?

 

We use Meraki, but I can't see any other option...

Install 'iTunes' app on a pc, connect the computer, and in there you can remove mass amounts of photos etc off the device. I had to do it before and that was the easiest option. It then saves you doing it through meraki or resetting the iPad. Hope this helps.

Yeah as @verysmartbenn said, iTunes is the best way for this.

 

Awkward if you have multiple iPads but.... Apple and all.

If you have an iPad which is logged into a apple id, then you need the details for the apple id before the iPad even allows you to connect it properly. If not, and they're just setup using Meraki, Jamf etc, then you can just plug and play using the iPad passcode.

We have an old sync & charge USB unit that 16 iPads at a time can be connected to. That unit is then connected to an iMac or MacBook - we then use the built-in image capture app to clear all photos and videos on the iPads in one go.

So, it appears this isn't quite working here as I'd hoped... we have a sync trolley but...

 

iTunes is asking me to physically confirm on each iPad (meaning I have to take each one out of the trolley anyway)...

 

iPhoto says they are locked with a passcode... they aren't, they are just at the screen lock page!

 

The image capture app is also asking me to unlock each device, so as our charging cable are short and there is no room in the trolley I have to take them out individually and unlock the screen and accept 'trust this computer'...
