DrBeaker Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Hi, Anyone got any recommendations for a TV? Been a while since I purchased one. We need: 32" (due to space) Full HD Non-smart TV. Decent built-in speakers Option to connect to TV ariel in future Will be connected to a PC via HDMI/VGA for content etc. To be used for the staffroom, mounted on a stand. However all I can see these days is "smart" TV's, I can't seem to find a "dumb" TV. Don't need any of the smart features, just something that will display content etc. Thanks.
ZeroHour Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 To be honest I am not sure if you will find something without spending well over the odds to not have smart features. They are pretty useless when not connected up to wifi at least. Will the PC connected be used as a PC or more to display things? Text can be problematic to read on TV's if using it as an actual PC.
dhicks Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 32" (due to space) I use this Toshiba 32" TV at home as a PC screen: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07D2L2ZTR It is a smart TV, but the smart features aren't used and we don't notice them. You could, of course, use a monitor - I have this 32" QHD one in my office: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0777TRHPQ Someone at work has the 4K version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09FLKRWJY The first two devices were bought 2018, so 4 years ago, and have been used daily since with no problems. The 4K screen was bought a few months ago and seems to be working very nicely so far.
robintech Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Got one of these that we use with an Amazon firestick and the Screencloud app https://www.avpartsmaster.co.uk/viewsonic-cde3205-ep-32-large-format-digital-signage-display-p96022 They turn off on and on by hour and day individually, and you can set a weekly schedule so they turn off at weekends
