Dell Vostro 3515 not working with Smart board

Hi there,

 

I have a Dell Vostro 3515 (AMD unit) that I am trying to connect to an older Smart SB660, but for some reason it never recognises the USB that's plugged into it. I've tried it on other devices and they all work fine, I have also reinstalled drivers multiple times with no luck unfortunately and tried different cables. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried the USB2 port on the laptop, instead of the USB 3.2 ports?

 

How long is the USB cable from the SB660 to the laptop? I've had some struggle in the past with longer cable runs (even under the recommended 5M max) Do you have a short USB cable you could test it with?
