ICT Support Engineer

 

Summary

We are looking to appoint an experienced, professional, trustworthy and motivated ICT Support Technician who has a demonstrable track record of success in the IT industry. Someone who shares the team ethos of high standards and customer satisfaction.

 

Based in a school setting, the ICT Support Technician would need excellent communication and organisational skills, working both alongside the Network Manager as well as independently to maintain the highest levels of up-time for the school.

 

A self-motivated approach would be required to take the initiative and be highly pro-active when it comes to troubleshooting, maintaining and deploying hardware and software systems.

 

Mandatory experience for the role would include:

 

• Desktop / Laptop support (mainly Windows based);

• Windows Server support;

• Office 365;

• Anti-Virus software support.

 

Desirable experience would include:

 

• Networking (VLAN configuration for example);

• Print management;

• Data backup / restore technologies;

• Helpdesk management systems;

• Voice over IP;

• Apple Mac support;

• Microsoft Azure;

• CCTV / DVR systems;

• Mobile device management;

• Audio / visual system support.

 

This is a very dynamic role which would suit someone who has either worked in a school environment at a junior level for a year or more, or in a corporate setting; the key responsibilities would include:

 

• Providing timely and high-quality support to staff and students;

• Working to ensure that the IT systems are running in an effective, efficient and secure manor;

• Keeping up with updates and changes in the industry;

• Help staff use the schools IT facilities as efficiently as possible and as required for delivery of the curriculum;

• Maintenance and management of computers and on-premise / cloud based server infrastructure;

• Monitoring of key systems;

• Following, updating and creating high quality documentation in line with that which already exists.

Anybody who works in an education setting has a duty to protect the welfare of children. The successful candidate would be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provide photo ID and share the schools commitment to safeguarding as well as being supportive of their Christian Ethos.
