I work for a High School and we've taken on a Primary School.

They have some old USB Lego WeDo 1.0 kits which they program with Scratch 2.0 (the later and online versions of Scratch don't do WeDo 1.0)

I created a package and tested/ deployed it at our High School - absolutely fine.

I deployed the same package and found that clicking on "add extension", clicking "Lego WeDo 1.0" and clicking "OK" does nothing. No response at all.

There's a generic Stack_Buffer_Overrun error in Event Viewer and that's it.

There's very little difference between our two sites (when we took them on, we created a new Domain for them, mirroring ours and migrated users over to it.

I can't see what's causing this problem when there's so many similarities between the two sites.

Has anyone else encountered this? Did you have any luck fixing it?

Our Junior school had old Lego WeDo 1 kit and couldn’t get the software to play nicely. After investing too much time into getting it working and getting nowhere we advised them to purchase WeDo 2. Which they did, which works fine.

Hi, I've been struggling with this since replacing some of my laptop fleet. I think I just figured it out. For the extensions like WeDo 1.0 to work in Scratch 2.0, the version of Adobe Air must include the custom webkit. The last version that is on the Adobe Air website: https://airsdk.harman.com/runtime

Scroll down to:

AIR runtime including WebKit - version 33.1.1.744

I had to uninstall the old AIR version, and I uninstalled Scratch 2.0 for good measure, and then reinstalled it after installing the webkit version of Adobe Air. Works on my Windows 11 computers!
