iSteve Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Hi all, I have inherited an Aruba Instant Access wifi system at a secondary school. This is running a cloud controller from around 2017, "type 205", version 6.5.3.2. I've had to add a new AP to the system but do not know how to do this. Googling it says you click on a [+] icon under Access Points when signed in to the web controller. There is a [+] option, but this simply expands the list of access points, rather than being an 'add' button. Under "AP Alerts" the new access point is detected, but says "AP Register fail because of image mismatch" - presumably some sort of firmware is too old or new on the AP. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this working? I'm needing to bypass trial and error of working this one out as the school want it working yesterday The access point is a IAW-205-RW, and is a second hand eBay job, which has been hard reset. TIA!
Aprice Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Yep, sounds like the firmware versions are different, can you upgrade the new or existing AP/ APs to get them on the same build?
iSteve Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) I can give it a shot... That said, overnight it seems to have sorted itself out after being left alone for hours! Edited June 24, 2022 by iSteve
willtech Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 On the Aruba's if their is a mismatch the system should upgrade the firmware for you on its own. It does it on the IAP series as well.
