Hi all,

We started using Lesson monitor at the beginning of this academic year. Historically we have always had an registration period of 20 minutes in the morning, and then one of five minutes in the afternoon. We now want to abolish the afternoon reg entirely. We've already got it so that the PM reg mark is taken from the first afternoon lesson, but we'd like to remove "PMR" from the daily structure entirely. Is that possible, and if so how? Struggling to find comprehensible info.....

Thank you

I don't believe it is.

The pm and am registration columns always appear even if they are populated from a lesson mark. They are distinct in the database as this is the "legal" register whereas lesson registers are really only for internal school use.

I have not come across a way of hiding them.

You need to change the timetable cycle in NovaT to remove that 5 minute block of time altogether. Brief instructions here https://www.schoolicts.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Helpsheet-NOV1.pdf. I would recommend NOT doing this in the middle of an academic year - it’s too easy to mess it up - been there and done that and lost some reg marks as a result. There’s only a few weeks left, set up September’s timetable using the new cycle for the school day that you need.

I think this will get rid of the registration period from the timetable but it will not stop the pm session mark from appearing in lesson monitor.

Now removed as per picture. We did this;

PMR will be one of the periods named within the timetable cycle, if this period is no longer being used then therefore the timetable cycle would need to be adapted. This can be done by opening the timetable file, going to Cycle page, right clicking this period name and selecting remove period. You will then need to go through Tools | Define Period Times to ensure this is setup with the new timings of the day for each period and also you can then remove the classes or NCCs that used to be used for PM registration and are no longer needed. Once the timetable is updated as per the above then go to Data | Export Timetable Cycle to SQL and then Data | Export Timetable and Curriculum to SQL. Please ensure for both of these to enter a future date for the start date, as the date range this is applied to will wipe lesson marks, cover arrangements and student assignments that clash such as alternative curriculum.
