Recycle or reuse the Linx 1010 tablets

We have a stack of old Linx 1010 windows tablets that are taking up space and I would like to either wipe and recycle or somehow use. For those who have not had the pleasure of working with these devices they are a 10" tablet using the Atom CPU Z3735F @ 1.33GHz, 2GB ram and 32GB storage.

 

If we go down the recycle route what would be the best way to wipe them?

As suggested, try Neverware CloudReady (now Chrome OS Flex), although I suspect they might be a little bit low-powered to be a useful general-purpose machine. If they are touch screens, though, and relativly slim they might make handy dedicated kiosk devices for a room bookings system or similar if you can get some varient of Linux (I'd suggest Raspberry Pi OS / Debian) on them.

Thanks for the advice. Not come across Neverware before, any idea of the cost as I can't see it listed on their website?

It's free, but if you want to manage the devices through the Google workspace admin console you need to buy a management licence.

 

They're somewhere around the £30 to £35 mark per device, but not essential depending on how you use them/who you're giving them to.

I've installed the home version and it's runs ok speed wise but the touch screen is not recognised and nether is the detachable keyboard. The Linx 1010 are not in the list of certified models so it was a long shot but nothing lost.
