We have been asked to install Adobe Connect for a webinar some staff are doing but on the Desktop machines connected to the domain it installs on a user by user basis and i'm running out of ideas on how to get this to work as we block users from being able to install things such as this.

There is an MSI which installs however it configures the application for the user it was installed with.

Has anyone else come across Adobe Connect and installing the application for all users rather than a single user?

Isn't there a web version that works just as well now?

"No app or add-ins to download. With new HTML browser clients, leverage almost all capabilities with a single click, right from the browser. Never miss the audience whose IT policy may prohibit web downloads. Host, share, collaborate, and train anywhere, anytime, with the Adobe Connect mobile app for Android and iOS. Download Now "

If that fails...

I did this recently for Capita SATs marking and they said not to use the web version.

Luckily it was only for a small amount of teachers but unfortunately didn't have a lot of time to search for answers (they needed it yesterday as always).

As you have found it will only install for the logged on user, luckily that wasn't an issue as we only have one teacher account per laptop. What was an issue was that I couldn't seem to install as a standard user thanks to a big mess of SRP/Applocker policies and other security.

So, what did actually work (to my surprise) was installing it as admin, then just copying the folder into the users profile (and making a shortcut on their desktop), I think it's an appdata thing so doesn't install as a program (a bit like Teams, Zoom etc).

I still couldn't even run it as a standard user so made a (dirty) path rule in Applocker...

Thanks received... none!

It seems the MSI does make Adobe Connect available for users who log on to that particular machine however the logon times are dramatically affected being a lot slower as during logon the device states it's setting up personalisation settings for "C:\Program files (x86)\adobe\connect\installer\ConnectSetup.exe /msi"

It appears that connect is being installed to the user's local profiles under the roaming folder adding an addtional 250mb to the local profile.

Yeah that makes sense, but I don't have anything in 'Program files (x86)' but I used the download as directed by Capita 'ConnectShellSetup11.exe' and as I said for me it went straight to %appdata% just like Teams etc.

The Adobe Connect folder on my machine is 245MB so that also seems about right.
