gerardsweeney Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 All. Looking for a little advice, if possible? One of our High schools is wanting to purchase Adobe Creative Cloud (K12 machine based licence). We don't have Azure. Realistically - how much pain is this going to cause us? Incidentally - key factor... we (the IT Dept) would not be responsible for any form of user maintenance/creation on the Adobe side of things. Such things would solely be the responsibility of someone in the school who is asking for it. The deployment documentation makes it all seem hellishly over complicated - no wonder Serif are doing a brisk trade (I'd love to be proven wrong). Also - we'd be deploying the software via SCCM. What's the least arduous approach to keeping these up to date? I'm assuming they have some form of auto-updater, but these tend to not work behind authenticated proxy. Punching holes in proxy/firewall is likely to be met with a less than enthusiastic response from those responsible for them. Thoughts? Anyone?
psydii Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Other than deploying the licence, I think its the same as for Named User Licences packages: 1) use the adobe console to create packages with the 'enable remote update manager" option selected. 2) Use SCCM/MEMCM to deploy those packages 3) Then use the Remote Update Manager to update the installs for the next year, until you are ready to update the packages and redeploy (which is typically a summer-break sort of job) RUM can have proxy username and password added. https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/using-remote-update-manager.html If you don't want to use RUM, then you can just use the admin console to update packages monthly and have sccm deploy those - though this can put a strain on the server/client disks depending on how big your installation packages are and how many computers you are deploying to.

Have you got Google Workspace setup then if your not a M365 org? It's complex to setup as each org will have a different idP. It will be a right pain for someone to create Adobe accounts for each user. You can provision accounts using LDAP but you can only authenticate using SAML. ADFS might be an option.
cheekycharly Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 We bought 12 licenses and I literally just made emails up for them... AdobeICT1@ AdobeICT2@ AdobeICT3@ AdobeART1@ You get my drift. Creative cloud was then installed as administrator and selected which applications. Then we just have a sticker on the laptop that says which one it is and the teacher knows the passwords. Seems to work for us in a non Azure environment.
