discoveranother Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Hi All, Just wondered if anyone out there has encountered issues with Microsoft Teams using specific hardware. For example, we have a school where staff have HP G7 laptops. Whenever they use these laptops for Teams it is very intermittent. I have seen this myself. I have checked everything is up to date and all HP tests via their SupportAssist software shows everything is fine. The school say other manufacturer laptops they test for Teams works fine. Just wondered if anyone has any similar experiences. Thanks all
DaveTheTech Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 When you say internmitant, what is Teams doing / not doing? Have you tried clearing out Teams cache?
Foresthippy Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Have you tried "Disable GPU hardware acceleration" in settings? This worked for a particular species of Asus laptop that kept freezing.
CHiLL Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Which HP model is it? G7 is just the model generation. Most of our staff laptops purchased for lockdowns are i5 varients of the HP 250 or 255 G7. We have no issues with them, though we did completely wipe them and install Win10 Edu via SCCM, so they don't have any of the pre-installed stuff on them. We also received a whole raft of i3 varients of the HP 255 G7 via the DfE scheme, which are all joined via Intune (I can't remember what the exact step is called, but we did a Fresh Start or something, which resets the OS and removes built-in apps...but keeps the profiles). We don't have any issues with those either.
sonic1485 Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Last year we had issues with the oldest desktops in our fleet (Optiplex 780's) running LTSB crashing whenever Teams video calls were made (audio only was fine). All available drivers were up to date and tried disabling GPU hardware acceleration etc. Never found the true cause for this but an upgrade to LTSC sorted it out
