Bev Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 We currently have the Very PC Flex machines and have had a few issues with quality. Mostly very noisy fans, and the backs are prone to falling off. I like the look of the Beam all in ones, I was just wondering how other people had found them?

I like the look of the Beam all in ones, I was just wondering how other people had found them? We've only ever used the VeryPC Flex machines and never had the backs fall off so that's a bit odd - we use Kensington locks in most rooms to secure the back cover on the Flex PCs and in 1 computer suite we just screw the plastic back cover on so the students can't remove any cables etc. I do know what you mean about noisy fans, on some of the ones we've had for many years the bottom fan (we have the monitors mounted on the side of some our ones) gets clogged with dust making them noisy so we just disconnected them as they dont do a great deal and after a few minutes of being noisy they tend to quieten down.
Bompalompalomp Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 RE: The Flex machines... I was about to reply to say yes, but then I remembered it's actually the very same Flex Mini case but used by another popular school supplier for their Flex Minis. We had a few on delivery where the rear I/O panels were placed incorrectly and fell out so we had to remove the motherboards and refit them to get them to stay in. We sent photos and explained the error and they said they were happy to send an engineer to fix the problem themselves if we wanted to (not worth it for the ones we had). That was a different company, but if you contacted ZooStorm they would probably oblige? General build and quality is pretty good (except for the larger Aspect machines from a few years ago where the metal is so thin I don't think they're fit for a lot of schools and get bent). I would guess if there were any build/assembly issues with the Beam they would oblige too.
Bev Posted May 20, 2022 Author Posted May 20, 2022 The Beam is an all in one machine, so I would assume we would have no issues with the bank panels falling off. I just wondered if there were any other issues I needed to worry about.
