With over 15 years' experience providing IT support to a range of organisations in the East Midlands area, Link ICT are recruiting an experienced, dynamic, and talented individual to join our growing team as a Senior IT Support Technician, with responsibility for managing our Service Desk.

About you:

We are looking for an individual with upwards of 5 years’ experience working in IT support, with experience of providing 3rd line support. The successful candidate will be part of the ICT support team and will be provide support to education and business customers, using both remote access systems and by attending on-site visits. You will show excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate easily, clearly, and politely with end-users with various levels of IT literacy.

The role:

 

  • Manage our remote support customers, ensuring that tickets are resolved in a timely manner, in line with SLAs
  • Provide support to our internal IT support team, especially more junior members of the team
  • Manage network and server infrastructure
  • Maintain and implement network security policies
  • Maintain, configure and install client devices and associated software packages

Desirable knowledge and experience

 

  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, RDS, and network printing
  • Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V or VMWare
  • MDM solutions such as Meraki, Intune or Lightspeed
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Cloud Services
  • Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Server backup technologies
  • Configuring network switches, routers, firewalls, and wi-fi systems
