Solution for some Android 12 based devices

We've hit a problem in the last year or so where certain Android 12 mobile devices are not able to log into our guest network. The problem is that these connections now need a privately generated certificate I believe. In previous versions you could simply choose to 'not validate' certificates.

 

We run a Ruckus Smartzone application based system which has generally served us well.

It's been an issue for a while... Threads here and here on the subject.

We had the same problem. The only way around it is to implement some kind of provisioning app which users could download that'd auto configure all the WiFi settings.

We ended up joining Eduroam and using that for our BYOD needs, and it's been fantastic so far. They've got apps that'll autoconfigure pretty much any device with minimal user effort needed.
