Al_Balone Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 As the title suggests, I have a HP Chromebook 11 G6 EE that doesn't respond when either shift key is held. Every other key on the keyboard works as intended so I doubt its physical damage. I've tried a powerwash and that didn't help. Anyone else have this problem? The caps lock (alt+search) does work.
6Foot2 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Does it have an update available? If it does, perhaps that will clear the problem? 1
gaz350b Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 There is also a hardware reset which often fixes keyboard issues for us. 1
Al_Balone Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 I tried the hardware reset and it had no effect, but I logged in to the device using the on screen keyboard and once in I then had a notification that caps lock was on (even though nothing was being typed in uppercase), I turned it off and voila! The shift keys began working again. Strange behaviour but there you go. I thought I'd update for the sake of good etiquette, just in case someone else encounters the same problem! Thank you both for the help.
