chris11256 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Hi All, The Business Director is charging ahead with replaing our Xplan door control system with Paxton Net2 over the Easter Holidays. My main concern is ensuring the as many peoples cards still work after Easter as possible, however from what I can see Net2 doesn't read Mifare cards in the same way that plan does. Does anyone know a way to convert cards numbers from a Plan to the Net2 format? I've had a very quick play with the free version and it seems to read mifare cards in the same way that Inventry and Papercut does, so it is as simple as nabbing the numbers from Papercut?
cworcester Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Hi So we currently have both XPLAN and Paxton (different sites) and had to do this before for our users. We take the XPLAN number without the leading zeros, convert it to binary (DecToBin), reverse the binary and then convert back to decimal (BinToDec). We then had the right numbers to pull in to Paxton. My colleague did this in an Excel spreadsheet and it seemed to just work at the time we did the bulk import of users. We use MIFARE standard cards.... We still use HID card readers with the Paxton system to work with the mifare cards, so I'm not sure if what I've described above is exactly what you need but it might help a little. For any new users now we tend to just scan them in to both systems.... one day, maybe, we'll end up with Paxton on both sites! 1
chris11256 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Thank you, I'll give this a go! Shoyuld be a one time thing, as all new users will go directly into Paxton in the first place. Edited March 28, 2022 by chris11256
Chris_Cook Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 if you have the card IDs in AD and you use Salamander, then they can sync to net2. 1
chrisakak9 Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Hi, If your using miFare cards with your InVentry unit you can add integration between them and have InVentry populate the Paxton Database for you.
chris11256 Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 Thanks, we do use the cards with Inventry as well. That'd be very handy!
