ARobertson Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Hello We have some domained HP 840 G3's that keep failing to turn on. After holding the power button for a few seconds they do nothing however if you repeat the process they then all of a sudden come to life with a very brief flash of the power button and then they go off again. If you then repeat THIS process about 2 to 3 more times they eventually turn on completely and function as normal? I figured it may be board related but I am not familiar with this issue. Has anyone experienced this before? I can't think where to start as I wouldn't want to get them replaced if it's a software issue or something else minor. Specs are: Win 10 8GB RAM i5-6300U Thanks, Adam
Oaktech Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I have some gen4 Elitebooks that were doing that - removing the batteries, pressing the power, then putting it all back together again has cleared the fault. Worth making sure you're all up to date with firmware etc. 1
ARobertson Posted March 17, 2022 Author Posted March 17, 2022 Thanks! I'll try that and see where I get to 😂
ARobertson Posted March 18, 2022 Author Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) *****SOLVED***** You appear to have fixed the issue perfectly! Thank you so much, now just time to do it on the other laptops 😂 Have a good day, Adam Edited March 18, 2022 by ARobertson 1
