If you love coding and are interested in databases and web development, this position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills and career in one of the leading independent schools in the UK.

 

This exciting new position will be key to Uppingham School’s continuing ambitions to provide the finest digital tools to its staff. As Junior Database and Web Developer, you will help deliver a variety of interesting development projects that directly affect the smooth operation of the School. You will be mentored by the Lead developer and encouraged to experiment with new tools and techniques without some of the constraints of larger organisations. You will also provide a 3rd line support service for the School’s databases and database applications.

 

You will need to be a meticulous coder who is not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. You will also be hugely collaborative on projects and keen to understand the operation and administration of a complex environment such as Uppingham.

 

Whilst we don’t expect experience in all these areas, these are the tools you will need to learn:

 

· VB.Net, C#

· MS SQL

· ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, IIS

· Blazor, HTML 5, CSS, Javascript/Jquery

· Web Forms, Windows Forms

· Powershell

· Microsoft reporting services/PowerBI/Data Warehousing

· TFS/Azure Devops Server/GIT

· Microsoft cloud services – Azure/Sharepoint/Teams
