Intune Best Practise

With Staff getting new laptops in the summer we have started to make the jump to intune. Have used OOBE and working well, my question is what is best practise? So once i have the device into intune and it is at the welcome screen do you get the teacher to sign in or do you (IT Staff) login first and let the computer settings pull down? Then once synced a few times then hand laptop to teacher to login.

What you can do is allow 'white glove OOBE' in intune. Then on your enrolled laptop press the windows key 5 times(when it's at the language choice screen) and you'll then be able to pre-provision it and then reseal it in the box. So when user then gets the device it's roughly ready and will only let them login with their school email address.

Thanks for that, so with that method are the machine policies installed at those stages before the staff member signs in? I just want it to be slick as possible like SCCM where the user turns up to the room with new laptop ready and no wait time.

Pretty much. If the machine is pre-assigned to a user in Intune it'll install any programs assigned to to the user. Otherwise it'll do anything thats machine based.
