Davit2005 Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) Hi All, So I've been running an AD environment at home for 15+ years but I'm reducing my setup at home, running a AD domain jus for myself is getting a admin headache which is not really worth it anymore. I have a Premium business azure subscription that I am using for personal email, teams and few other bits and pieces. I've only one user that I need to migrate completely to Azure AD and not sync any more so I can remove my AD from home. For those of you who have done this how did you proceed. I don't want to lose email etc from my user. I never had exchange at home. Cheers Edited February 1, 2022 by Davit2005
tmoon-mint Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 When I have done this I have deleted the user from on prem AD synced to Azure and then recovered the account from deleted users in Azure. This will make it a cloud only account.
Davit2005 Posted February 1, 2022 Author Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) Seems a bit of a sledgehammer approach, lol. I have a test account I can use. The other options seem to be to remove AAD connect, lol. Time to make sure the backup of Office 365 is working OK. For now I've taken a test account and moved it out of the OU that I sync to Azure, ran a sync and jus about to see what happens. You'd of thought MS would make this a bit easier, Edited February 1, 2022 by Davit2005
