Dell D520 projector problems

Hi Guys,

 

I have got a problem with one Dell D520. Every time I try to use it with a projector, it fails to display the image. 'No signal recieved' is all I get. I have set the output to 'dual display' and it still does not work. I have tried flicking through the outputs for all devices (FN + f8) with no joy, as well as installing the latest video drivers. I tried formatting the drive and reinstalling Windows, as well as updating the BIOS.

 

Has anyone experienced this or can suggest anything else I can try?

Does it still display an image on the laptops LCD? Has it ever worked with projectors? Sounds as if your VGA has died on the laptop. This has happened to a few of our older laptops.

Thank you for your quick response. The screen on the laptop is fine, I have just tried plugging it into a standard tft monitor, no success.

 

I suspect you could be right about the vga port. It did work fine for months until last week.

Not sure if you've tried this - always the VGA cable for us when this happens.
