stephensavage1986 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Hi all, When attempting to upgrade Configuration Manager to version 2111 I am getting the following prerequisite error: [Failed]:Configuration Manager requires at least .NET version 4.6.2 for site systems, clients, and the console. To minimize disruption, before you run Configuration Manager setup, update .NET and restart the system. If possible, install the latest version of .NET 4.8. For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2165437. I already have .NET 4.8 installed but it doesn't seem to be detecting this? I installed .NET 4.8 via the standalone installer so it doesn't show in 'Installed Windows Updates'. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it? Thanks Steve
Steve21 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 When did you install .net? If it was recently sccm probably hasn’t run the discovery service to find it, as it’s not the installer that checks but the actual server has a framework check part of it and it only updates on a schedule Steve
stephensavage1986 Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. I installed it 3 days ago. Is there a way to force the check to take place? Thanks
FN-GM Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) Have a read of the release note for SCCM 2111 NET version 4.6.2 prerequisite check is an error Configuration Manager current branch version 2107 has a warning prerequisite rule that checks for Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.6.2. This version of .NET is required on site servers, specific site systems, clients, and the Configuration Manager console. Starting in this release, this prerequisite rule for .NET 4.6.2 is an error. Until you upgrade .NET, you can't continue installing or updating the site to this version of Configuration Manager. For more information, see List of prerequisite checks for Configuration Manager. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/changes/whats-new-in-version-2111 To be honest I am not 100% sure what it means?
