Windows 10 Search - black screen

I rebuilt a new image using Windows 10 Education 21H1 - and everything (including the search bar) was working perfectly. Then I joined the domain - Search stopped working.

 

When connected to the domain any user (admin or otherwise) when typing anything - including local search for D:\ etc into the search bar - a large black box appears, with no content displayed.

 

As soon as I take it off domain and back onto workgroup - it works perfectly again.

 

Domain policies for Windows search are attached... everything else available on that GPO option is set to not configured:

 

Completely at a loss here... regedit hacks to disable Bing search + cortana consent make no diference whatsoever.

I’m beginning to wonder now if it’s a possible web filtering issue? Does anyone know if that search bar requires URL’s to be opened even for local searches?

 

Nothing showing on our filtering as being blocked but just wondering…
