dazza007 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) Hi all! Has anyone managed to allow youtube videos through the http header smoothwall method to work. There are 2 articles and they contradict on how to set it up. I have checked and double checked everything. I tried the first and in edge it allows unrestricted mode if you open up the allowed link. HTTPS decrypt is applied, the content policies have the correct order. I am so confused and it is only Monday! The first method for http content mod states to add a url and the second states to add a video id, neither really work! Configuring the Smoothwall Filter to Allow Access to Specific YouTube videos or playlists – Knowledge Base Additionally, when using this method it is possible to allow access to specific videos via the Smoothwall administration user interface. To do so, create a new custom category under Guardian > Policy Objects > Categories: · Name: Allowed YouTube videos · Domain/URL filtering: Enter YouTube video URLs Allowing Access to Restricted YouTube With a Content Modification Policy – Knowledge Base (smoothwall.com) Method states to find standard categories Youtube allowed videos and playlist and then add the youtube video id and add that. ibpalle Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 The 2nd method is about enabling Youtube safety modes, not about allowing specific videos so they should not be contradicting each other as such. The first method is about allowing access to individual videos and from the sounds of it, you can get that working but then the problem is that when you access that video it's not in safesearch mode? Since that is for a single video, not the whole of youtube, is that really a problem?
