I have a Ooni Karu 12, I love it, cook for the family on it most weeks and have taken it away and cooked for friends on it.

Once you have a dough recipe you like then it's all really easy. I like the option to use wood and charcoal but I did buy the gas attachment as when you're cooking for groups of people, as it really speeds things along.

If you need a Peel then I'd buy one from these guys, they're a good price and well made:

Has anyone got one? How do you find it? Use it regularly?

Yes they are pretty awesome and it's a fantastic community too! I've had the Ooni 3, Koda, Karu 12 and now the Karu 16! I'm also one of the admins on the UK Ooni Facebook page.

There's currently 20% off most of the ovens and accessories for Black Friday currently too! https://uk.ooni.com/collections/black-friday

If you want any help or advice feel free to drop me a message.

Took the plunge and bought the Karu 12. it's good that it's multifuel. i'd never use the gas part i don't think. Bought the cover as well.

After that i bought from amazon: Perforated peel, Laser thermometer, Kindling, Firelighters, Gloves, Pizza Cutter...

Expensive business!

I've got the gas one, which I think is more convenient than the wood burner one?

Seems to work alright, I've just not got the dough quite right yet :)

I bought the Ooni Fyra last year on Black Friday for £184 from Selfridges (of all places!)

It's an excellent purchase. I had no desire to mess around with gas canisters, so I went for the Fyra, which uses wood pellets to heat the oven. It's really easy to put together and once lit, takes about 15-20 minutes before it's ready to go. I've found that the pizzas cook well at around 500°C. As the main flame is at the back, you put the pizza in, wait about 20-25 seconds, use the metal peel to take it out, turn the pizza around slightly and put it back in. You'll have a fully cooked pizza in just under 60 seconds!

Some essential accessories to also buy:

BBQ oven gloves - This thing can reach temperatures in excess of 600°C, you don't want to be touching that with your bare hands. I made the mistake of trying to open the flue vent with my uncovered fingers. It hurt, a LOT!

Laser thermometer - This helps you see what the actual temperature is inside the oven.

Metal bucket - I found that the wood pellets, once burnt out, sometimes clogs up in the back burner or the vent, so you might need to empty the vent after a few pizzas. A metal bucket is very useful for disposing of the still very hot burnt pellets.

Wooden peel - To prepare and then "launch" the pizza.

Metal peel - To turn the pizza inside the oven and take it out.

It's a little bit of a job to clean. It gets very, very black, "sooty" and needs a thorough clean, but otherwise, it's a very enjoyable experience indeed.

The only downside - You'll never really enjoy take away pizza again once you've had one of these! 😂

I've also had one all summer. Wood burner is the only way to go in my opinion so got a Ooni Fyra.

After a few failed attempts (overdone, underdone) I got it bang on. The real key is to get a "leopard" print on the outside of the pizza crust.

Keep the temps high and dont be afraid to turn it round after 30 seconds or so.

Also use lots of flour and semilina to let the pizza transfer to the oven the first time. Don't chill the tomato sauce as it makes the base wet and difficult to move.

I got the Ooni Fyra last Christmas - I loved it at first but I wish I got the gas one now. I think you can get a convertor so I might look at getting that. Love your setup @supportman!

Thanks, built it last summer as a fun project. Great entertaining space :D

You can't get an adapter for the Fyra unfortunatley. I know a few people have hacked a gas burner from a 3/Karu to fit it but the oven isn't designed for it and obviously voids any warranties with Ooni and isn't deemed as safe.
