powdarrmonkey Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Here's a tricky one for you. I'm just trying to roll RIS over to WDS, and some machines here boot the network automatically every time. Normally this isn't a problem, because RIS gives an F12 prompt before starting and falls back on Windows if not. WDS doesn't though, it goes straight for Windows Setup. Have you had this problem and managed to overcome it?
saundersmatt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I'm going from my experience with WDS on 2008 here. But you can change the PXE bootfile between one that requires an f12 keypress and one that doesn't. Check the server setting under client/pxe settings and see. The 2k8 file names are pxeboot.com (required f12 press) and pxeboot.n12 (no f12) Matt 1
powdarrmonkey Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Ah excellent, I'd been racking my brains trying to remember what the difference between .coms and .n12s were. Cheers.
