Hi there,

I wondered if anyone might be able to help.

Server 2016, Windows 10 client stations.

I am seeing the following in a GPResult on a client computer. I have not checked others yet, so not sure if this is just one computer or many.

It states that my Folder Redirection GPO is failing and to check Event Log.

I have done so and can see that the following redirections are throwing errors:

My Documents

Pictures

Videos

Music

Links

Favourites

Downloads

RoamingAppData

I have noted down all of the errors and can see that the ones marked above in blue are showing the following error (My Pics just used as an example, they don’t all say “My Pictures” in the path):

Failed to apply policy and redirect folder “Pictures” to “\\servername\homefolder$\userinquestion\MyDocuments\My Pictures”.

Redirection options=0x9231.

The following error occurred: “Failed to redirect the folder because the destination folder \\servername\homefolder$\userinquestion\MyDocuments\MyPictures\ is offline.”.

Error details: “The network path was not found.”.

The above marked in red are showing the following error (again Downloads just used as an example, not all of the errors show “Downloads” in the path):

Failed to apply the policy and redirect the folder “Downloads” to \\servername\homefolder$\userinquestion\Downloads”.

Redirection options=0x1211.

The following error occurred: “Failed to redirect the folder because the destination folder \\servername\homefolder$\userinquestion\Downloads is offline.”.

Error details: “The network path was not found.”.

I have reviewed the GPO (attached in this OP) and can see that Music, Pictures and Videos all follow the documents folder.

If I log in as the user, I am able to browse to \\servername\homefolder$\userinquestion\My Documents. Within this folder, there is a Music, Pictures and Videos folder.

I have checked the

I have verified that within the GPO all individual folder Redirection choices other than ones which follow Documents, have both “Grant the user exclusive rights to Documents” and “Also apply redetection policy to Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 Operating systems” are ticked.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going wrong?

For downloads set to "Basic" and "Create a folder for each user under the root path" then in the root path set it to "\\servername\homefolder$" it will do the rest for you.

Hope that puts you on the right path.
