Hi all,

I've put this on the Windows 10 thread even though it relates to Google because laptops being used are Windows 10.

Is there a way to prevent the Google Startup Page from appearing for all user logins on Windows 10 ?

Thank you

You can set a homepage for most browsers using GPO, although when searching for Edge, make sure it's the Chromium based version you're configuring

Do you mean the "Welcome to Google Chrome" first run messages, or are you trying to customise what users are shown each time they open Chrome?

It's all in the Chrome GPOs; if for some reason you can't use group policy, you could manually add the registry keys for the behaviour you want. There's also a bunch of behaviour you can control using the master_preferences file.

Pretty much all GPOs are are registry edits, so you can search for the GPO, and read the actual key being changed, convert it to a .reg file and install it for the computer or default user.

Thinking back, I don't think there was one single GPO that disabled the welcome screen, I think it was a combination of setting the startup pages, and disabling all of the import settings options.

An alternative option is to create the Preferences file with a line saying first run has already been done -

- although I haven't tried that method myself.
