Hi,

We have recently moved to SIMS and have found the way creating Termly School Reports an absolute nightmare, we are using profiles as we need the reviewing aspect of it, being able to send reports back or approve them is a must for us.

But the fact that you cannot integrate these Profiles within the 'Individual Report' so you have to add marksheets to the Profile but unless you have an active comment for a profile you cannot get the teachers name in the sessions Report.

The review stage is so clunky and time consuming for SLT HOS's.

Is there any 3rd party companies which will pull aspects, grade sets off of SIMS the ability to add subject comments that has a purpose of Creating School Reports?

Thanks

Hi,

We have recently moved to SIMS

Can I ask what you moved from and why you (your school) choose SIMS?

Sorry I can't help with your question but at least my reply bumps your thread to the top. I'M HELPING!

Indeed it's odd that someone would choose to move to SIMS from pretty much any other provision, especially if things like this were not picked up and tested before signing up. If it isn't fit for purpose, why are you not bringing it up with both SLT and SIMS? Why should you pay extra for something SIMS should be doing properly?

Prime example of poor management in schools.surely this was all checked before signing the contracts?

Schools then complain they have no money; much of this is a result of poor procurement decisions.

I'll try to avoid the OMG aspect, as I know of schools on non-SIMS platforms that got moved to SIMS as a result of joining a MAT and being forced to be in line. Do have partner schools to confirm the way you are doing things is the most effective? What about support, who do you have access to? You might find registering and posting this question on https://adme.me.uk/ might help as it is something some school's Data Managers are more familiar with. One other thought, I know some schools use Edulink One from Overnet Data and are very positive about it. You might like to pose your issue to them and see where it leads, but it would of course have cost if you went that route, but many have for wider benefits.
