m0bov Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Hi all, simple question, hopefully a simple fix! We have TEAMS of course at our high school, they are all populated via SIMS/Salamander. However, in Sept a few students complained they couldn't see their 2020-2021 classwork. Now we need to ensure everyone can, any simple fix? I have not yet googled it or spoken with MS, just wondered if anyone here has already dealt with that. Thanks James
3s-gtech Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Their previous Teams will (hopefully) be set to archived - depends how you processed the year change. They can then view them by searching in the client.
m0bov Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 We use Salamander, never archived anything before but will ask the question! If its archivied, does that then keep the permissions in place for the student into the new term? If so, that could be why, we've never archived.
3s-gtech Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 When archived, it hides the old Teams and makes them read-only. The old Teams are no longer written to so permissions stay as they were. We actually set up a new sync process this year due to some other changes, and we amend the school year to the Teams names so we haven't archived the 2020 ones this time - but if you don't do that there's a risk that the sync process will overwrite the old Teams memberships.
m0bov Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 Thanks mate, I will speak with Salamander, I also have a ticket with MS just to check it over.
