maxrebo Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Does anyone have a guide on the amount of devices you can have connected to a AP before you get performance issues via a Aruba AP515? Just having a few performance issues with a bank of 30 laptops logging on, a number of them constantly sat pulling network settings between logging on and pulling down the desktop Running local profiles Thanks
psydii Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 We've seen something similar on the 315 model too. Occasionally it just stalled out. Updating to latest firmware seems to resolve it. The capacity of the AP is really dependent upon the capabilities of the devices connecting. In capacity testing a few years ago we had no problem with 120 devices across six rooms and three aps, simulating a the start of a lesson using roaming (uncached!) profiles. These were mostly 1x1 ac devices with around quarter being 2x2 ac. What I have noticed is sometimes performance characteristic will change after driver / windows updates. This has been true over the Trapeze, Meru and now Aruba networks I have looked after. It may also be worth just looking in on the console to see if there are any DFS events or other interference going on. 1
