Multiple configurations in Exam WritePad

We'd like to have two different configs for Exam WritePad, specifically with and without spell checker. Is this possible? We're doing it at the moment on standalone laptops which have two disk partitions, but that seems a clumsy way of doing it. Ideally the solution would be hands-off for my team, but I suppose we could push the relevant .json file before each exam if we had to.

Or 2 different shortcuts to 2 installation folders with the different json.

Hmm. Some of our students would have wilfully used the wrong shortcut in the hope of gaining an advantage and claim they didn't know if caught out.

 

Additional suggestion if using this solution: Run the two different configurations of ExamWritePad from shares where NTFS permissions can be applied: 1. Spelling enabled. 2. Spelling denied.

Yep, or in our case the start menu is based on the user that logs in, so a SPAG allowed account could get 1 shortcut, non SPAG allowed gets the other.

Even better if you don't have the file association set on the users device as well just to be on the safe side.
